Step-Family/Blended Family Counseling

The task of forming relationships, particularly stepparent-stepchild ones is uncharted territory for each beginning stepfamily or blended family. Support from outside the stepfamily or blended family is a critical ingredient in the making of a successful stepfamily or blended family unit. Educational guidance, regarding what experiences are normal in stepfamily development can help families be less burdened and afraid of failure. Outside support is also helpful when individuals are learning to understand each other’s feelings and experiences in the stepfamily. Stepfamily/blended family counseling gives family members the chance to talk about their fears, hurts and hopes and is invaluable in helping stepfamilies through difficult moments.
